Digital Portfolio Using Google Sites

Image
As a culmination of my work in EDIT 4300 and EDIT 4510 I had to create a Google site to display all of my work. The platform that we used for this assignment was Google sites and I am happy to say it was very user friendly. I was able to link my assignments, change the formatting, adjust the layout, and make it my own. I really enjoyed putting this assignment together. Reflecting on our work digitally was nice and easy. As a connection to my current placement as a 7th grade teacher, our students are also tasked with creating digital portfolios using Google Sites at the end of 8th grade. I was able to show my students my portfolio as an example which was awesome. Because of how user friendly it is, I am excited to help my students spit together their assignments and share their work. HTML

Coding using HTML…I am so glad we got an introduction to this in Professor Rubal's class. For this assignment I used basic HTML code to make a templated website my own. Because I had already worked on some of this coding in my EDIT 5600 class, I was already familiar with some of the common taglines. When looking at the code template, it was very overwhelming at first, but taking it one section at a time made it a lot easier. One of the most challenging parts for sure is inserting images. Properly incorporating images was not only a struggle this time around, but also in my first HTML assignment for 5600. Although it was a challenge I was able to get it and continue to practice. I am hoping that eventually I will know the key to properly and quickly insert images into an HTML site. Overall, this assignment was a lot of fun and a much needed reinforcement of skills learned in EDIT 5600.
